The Five Most Common Mistakes in AI-Drafted Surveys {#common-mistakes}

1. Double-Barrelled Questions

The AI loves to combine two ideas into one question because it sounds efficient. "How clear and timely was the manager's feedback?" asks two things. A respondent who found it clear but late cannot answer accurately.

Fix: Split every question that contains "and" into two separate questions. If splitting feels excessive, drop the less important half.

2. Leading Wording

AI trained on marketing copy will phrase questions positively by default. "How much did you enjoy the new onboarding process?" presupposes enjoyment. Honest respondents who hated it have to fight the framing to give that answer.

Fix: Strip evaluative adjectives from the question stem. Move all the valence into the response scale. "Rate the new onboarding process from 1 (very poor) to 5 (very good)."

3. Scale Mismatch
